Tingyun
When independent winemaker Liu Yuanwai founded Tingyun (translated to Lingering Cloud) in 2016, he referenced Tao Yuanming's four-character poem 'Tingyun' (霭霭停云,蒙蒙时雨). The poem includes a preface, 'Tingyun, thinking of relatives and friends', which is exactly what he hopes drinking Tingyun wines will evoke.
Rooted in respect for the unique terroir of Ningxia, Tingyun pursues a minimal-intervention winemaking philosophy centred on purity, natural expression, and effortless elegance. While they own no vineyards, they source premium grapes from the region and rent production space for winemaking and bottling.
Tingyun focuses on the innovative production of natural sparkling wines and distinctive tea-infused wines.
