Petit Mont

Founded in 2017 by young winemaker Ma Jie and partner Yu Qian as a pan-China project, Petit Mont is the couple's ambitious attempt to capture the various unique terroir of China's major wine-producing regions (Ningxia, Yunnan, Tibet, Sichuan, and Xinjiang).
The label's Chinese name elegantly embodies this ethos: the character for 'mountain' (⼭) represents the land and terroir, while 'inch' (⼨) speaks to the Chinese sense of humility before nature; combined, 寸山 reflects the winemakers' respect for the landscape in each bottle.
As a winemaker, Ma Jie draws on his international winemaking experience, applying it with respect to regional Chinese customs to create distinct wines of local expression.
